The Mechanical team is responsible for all the various Mechanics and Actuation tasks along with proper designing and simulation of vehicle. The team uses concepts of Structural Mechanics, Fluid mechanics, Material Technology, Thermodynamics and software i.e. Solidworks and ANSYS to Design, Simulate and Fabricate the Vehicle. The fabrication is done in such a way that vehicle has no leakage. For that, proper sealing is done through O-rings and Gaskets along with SEACON Penetrators and Connectors. Team uses Economic as well as performance enhancing materials to enhance the Vehicle. . Generally Acrylic and Aluminium is preferred and at places where stress concentration is high, stainless steel is used. The vehicle is made with close tolerances with proper calculations of Centre of Gravity, Centre of Buoyancy, Buoyancy, weight and other forces like drag and lift to obtain maximum stability and degrees of freedom.
